Good news adds to area spring fever

Pilgrimage, azaleas and a good dose of spring fever arrived in the Miss-Lou last week. But the good news goes beyond the beauty around us.

Let’s review some of the good headlines from last week.

– The group of mentoring ministers at Robert Lewis Middle School is receiving statewide attention. They are the recipients of a Partners in Education Outstanding School/Community Partnerships award.

This group has been a great addition to the middle school and a wonderful influence on its students. We are glad to see such programs in place at our local schools.

– Two local health care providers have joined forces to bring better care to the Miss-Lou. Riverpark Medical Center and Natchez Community Hospital enjoyed a little fanfare this week when they cut the ribbon on a new cath lab. The equipment offers state-of-the-art heart care for our citizens.

– U.S. Sen. Trent Lott and our local county supervisors had what they feel was a productive meeting recently.

Communication between these offices is essential for the development of our area. We are glad Lott has taken the time to meet with our representatives.

The spring fever likely won’t clear for a few weeks, so do your best to get the daily tasks done before heading outdoors to enjoy an extra hour of beauty in the longer daylight. We are sure the next week will be as good as the last.
