Services for Peggy Queen Owens Riggs, 79, of Ferriday, who died Monday, March 12, 2007, in Jackson, will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Comer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Wright officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Comer Funeral Home, Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Riggs was born May 9, 1927, in Decatur, Ala., the daughter of James S. and Nezzie C. Owens. She was a resident of Ferriday and a waitress for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughters, Belinda Searcy and Peggy Ann Dillingham; a son, Johnny Searcy; and four brothers.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Searcy of Brandon; daughters, Linda Bourgeois and Rosa Dunham, both of Ferriday, Nezzie Merritt of Natchez and Rena Lisenby of Clinton; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be J. P. Bourgeois, Corey Theriot, Chris McCurdy, Buddy Merritt, Shane Merritt and Willie Kimball.

Honorary pallbearers will be Monkey Theriot and Michael J. Martin Jr.
