A new service began this week in Natchez when owner Terry Gassett opened Just the Fax, which provides to Miss-Lou businesses daily lunch specials from local restaurants.

“This unique new service has been overwhelmingly embraced by the business community,” Gassett said. “It helps business people make the ‘where we should eat lunch today’ decision.”

Restaurant owners like the service because it is not like a static menu that gets put in a drawer, Gassett said.

Restaurants to date featured on the service are Marketplace Café, Pig Out Inn, Biscuits and Blues, La Fiesta Grande, Xpress Po-Boys, Natchez Best BBQ and Slough Daddy’s River Grill.

“We’re now in the process of adding restaurants,” Gassett said. “We want to have a well-rounded group from which to select while still keeping the service small enough to maintain the personal touch.”

The service is free to businesses that want to subscribe. “If you have a fax machine and want to try this service, call me at 601-442-5003,” Gassett sai
