Trey Corbett pitched a one-hitter and struck out eight and Huntington scored 11 runs in the bottom of the first inning as the Hounds (5-7, 3-0) defeated the Rams in five innings Tuesday night in MPSA District 7-A action.
The only hit Corbett allowed was a single by Colin Doré in the top of the fourth inning. Oddly enough, Doré was the losing pitcher.
Corbett also hit a three-run home run during Huntington’s scoring barrage in the bottom of the first as well as a double and ended up going 3-for-4. Landon Willard was a perfect 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles and Richard Steele had a triple and a double in his two appearances at the plate.
