WINNSBORO, La. — Vidalia has been struggling offensively for most of the season, but one wouldn’t have known it Tuesday afternoon as the Vikings pounded out 13 hits in their win over the Patriots.

On the mound, Trey Brasher was outstanding as he held Franklin Parish to two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out six. Brasher also went 2-for-3 with a double.

Vidalia (11-7) ended up seven extra-base hits in the game, including two home runs by Shayne Knapp – the first one a solo shot in the top of the fourth and the other a two-run blast in the top of the fifth. Knapp also had a double in his 3-for-3, four-runs batted in performance.

Knapp’s two-run home run keyed a three-run rally in the top of the fifth as the Vikings opened up a 5-1 lead. Vidalia then put the game out of reach with three runs in the top of the seventh.
