Firemen’s ball good for community

Sometimes you just need to kick up your heels and let off a little steam. Go ahead. It’s OK.
In fact, on Friday night, doing so will be more than OK.
It’s almost a civic duty.
That’s correct; you can throw down on the dance floor and also give back to a worthy cause at the same time.
Friday’s Natchez Fireman’s Ball will be one of those rare, even elusive, “win-win” situations about which we often read.
In addition to going to the party at the Natchez Convention Center from 8 p.m. to midnight and simply having a good time, anyone purchasing a ticket can also enjoy the fact that their ticket prices are not merely going into someone’s pocket.
As the Natchez Firefighters Association celebrates this year’s 10th annual ball, the proceeds from this event will go to the Sunshine Children’s Center in Natchez.
Originally begun by a Leadership Natchez class to help raise money for the jaws of life equipment for car accidents, the Fireman’s Ball has turned into a true reflection of the amazing people who work at the fire department.
Through the years, they turned what was once something created to help provide them with better fire-fighting tools to something that’s truly gives back to the community.
That selfless dedication is what makes our community’s firefighters so special to us and why we hope lots of people will head to the party on Friday night.
