Services for Thelma “Kido” Donnan Williams, 89, of Natchez, who died Monday, March 19, 2007, at her residence, will be noon Saturday at Zion Chapel AME Church with the Rev. Birdon Mitchell officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Williams was born Dec. 22, 1918, in Adams County, the daughter of Christopher Breckenridge Donnan and Maggie Terry Donnan. She received elementary and secondary education in the Adams County School System and was a graduate of Alcorn State University. She was a retired educator. She was a member of Zion Chapel AME Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Guy Williams; sisters, Maggie Todd and Carlotta West; brothers, Brownie Donnan and Sayle Donnan; and brother-in-law, James R. Todd Sr.

Survivors include a nephew, Dr. James R. Todd and wife, Dr. Fredericka Todd, of Natchez; nieces, Dorothy Spears and husband, Archie, of Markham, Ill. and Hope Pernell and husband, Mayes, of Jackson; a number of great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.

Honorary pallbearers will be Trustees of Zion Chapel AME Church and Dr. James R. Todd Jr.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Zion Chapel AME Church, 228 Martin Luther King Jr. Street, Natchez, MS 39120.
