Bulldogs score 12 in first inning; beat Wingfield

About the only thing that was odd about this Division 6-5A game was that the Bulldogs scored more runs in one inning, 12, than they had hits for the entire three-inning game, 10.
Cameron Logan hit a three-run home run for the Bulldogs as they scored 12 runs in the top of the first inning. Logan hit a double later in the game and ended up going 2-for-3.
Winning pitcher Melvin Davis pitched a no-hitter and Wingfield’s only run of the game was in the bottom of the first inning. Yet by the time that inning was over, the Falcons trailed 12-1.
Natchez High (10-6, 4-0) scored five runs each in the top of the second inning and the top of the third to end the game real early. Wingfield’s defense helped the Bulldogs by committing six errors.
