Nolin Alexander

Services for Nolin Alexander, 87, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Promise Specialty Hospital, Ferriday, will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Blackmon officiating.
Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery, in Sicily Island, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home, Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel.
Mr. Alexander was born March 15, 1920, in Winnsboro, the son of Danny and Victoria Alexander. He was a resident of Ferriday. He was a farmer. He was a school bus driver for Catahoula Parish Schools for 30 years. He was a member of Norris Hill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Leorna Alexander; his parents; a brother, Cecil Alexander; and sisters, Allie Gordy and Zelma McDonald.
Survivors include his sons, Woodroe Alexander and wife, Gracie, and Charlie Alexander and wife, Mary, all of Baton Rouge, Robert Alexander and wife, Jacerlin, of Lake Charles, and Danny Alexander of Sicily Island; daughters, Vickie Cader and husband, Gary, of St. Joseph and Faye Bradley and husband, Frank, of Ragley, Tressie Ogden and Sarah Tomlinson and husband, James, all of Baker, and Cecil Lee Parker and husband, R. B., of Wisner; 60 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Daniel Alexander of Harrisonburg, J. R. Alexander of Maitland and Billy Alexander of Walker; and sister, Inez Given of Dalton, Ga.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
