Otis White Sr.

Services for Otis P. White Sr., 57, of Harrisonburg, who died Thursday, March 22, 2007, at his residence, will be 2 p.m. today at Liberty Worship Center with the Revs. Lester Johnson and Dwayne Knapp officiating.
Burial will follow at Manning Cemetery, Harrisonburg, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home, Ferriday.
Mr. White was born Oct. 7, 1949, the son of K. W. and Fannie Thompson White. He was a lifelong resident of Catahoula Parish. He was a gift of love to everyone who knew him. He loved God and he loved his family with all of his heart. He drove a tanker for Petron and really enjoyed seeing his family and friends while traveling on the highway and giving them a “honk” and a big wave. He will be sadly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Sharon Knapp White of Harrisonburg; his son, O. P. White Jr. and wife, Jennifer, of Jonesville; daughter, Jalee Jones and husband, Chad, of Jena; five grandchildren, who called him Daddy-O, Caden-Isaiah Jones, Hael Jones, Josee Jones, Brett White and Morgan White; brother, Billy White of Harrisonburg; sisters, Wanda Knapp of Shreveport, La. and Barbara Rider and husband, Ronald, of Jonesville; and father-in-law, W. C. Knapp of Jonesville.
Pallbearers will be his brothers in the church, Kenny Davis, Ken Davis, Clark McClure, PeeWee Ainsworth, Isaac Clark and Ronald Ford.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, Dee Dee Knapp, John Knapp, Wayne Knapp, Gabby Knapp, Trent White, Chase White, Gerald Reeves, Rodney Reeves, Chris Towell, Roland Kratzer, Jason Edelen and Buddy Tackitt.
