Good news blooms like Southern flowers in the spring around these parts. Let’s review some of the good headlines from last week:

The Concordia Parish Library opened the newly renovated Vidalia branch. Complete with a river theme and primed for learning, the building is both gorgeous and functional.

Plans for the facility started many months ago, and everyone is happy to see the completed project. The library celebrated its grand opening this weekend, so if you haven’t stopped in, now is the time to check it out.

Natchez native Noah Saterstrom found an interesting job at home decorating the new Turning Pages on Franklin Street. The Denver-based artist crafted local scenes on the walls in the new store.

Not only is it good to see a local sharing his talents, but the growth at Turning Pages is a good sign of the vitality of downtown businesses.

4Planning for the annual Natchez blues festival is under way and this year looks to be as much fun as always.

Several new free concerts have been added to the slate of ticketed events. Mark your calendars for April 20-22.

We have one more week of March and a little more than half of Pilgrimage to go. Let’s enjoy spring as it blooms around us.
