Tensas didn’t have 11 hits like it did Monday night against Prairie View. In fact, the Chiefs didn’t even come close and Huntington pitcher Jordan Wilson made sure of that as he allowed just four hits as the Hounds took the win in District 7-A action.
Huntington (11-8, 5-1) broke a scoreless ball game when Trey Corbett hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the third inning. After Tensas had closed the gap to 2-1 in the top of the fourth, the Hounds put the game away by scoring two more runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Even though Tensas lost the game, head coach Taylor Grayson had to be pleased with the team’s defense as it committed no errors.
Huntington ended up with six hits. Phillip Washington had a double and Zack Brown was 2-for-3.
