Residents to visit World War II museum
Published 8:01 am Thursday, April 5, 2007
A couple of years ago, our community celebrated the dedication of the National World War II Monument with a day-long series of activities honoring our local World War II veterans.
This was an eye opener for the rest of us. While the World War II Monument is located far away in our nation’s capital, we are indeed fortunate that the National World War II Museum is in our part of the country just downriver in New Orleans.
Neighbors, we have a once in a blue moon opportunity to visit this museum!
On Wednesday, April 18 at 6 p.m., a chartered 55-passenger bus will load up and move out from the Natchez Wal-Mart parking lot for a trip to this fantastic place.
The only cost is the museum ticket. While the bus ride is free, there are only 20 seats remaining for veterans and their spouses. This is a first-come, first-serve situation to secure your seat.
The first 20 people to send in their ticket fee will secure a place on the bus.
Tour group rates are to be paid in advance to get the discount.
Tickets are as follows: adults $10, seniors $6, students $5.
Mail your check to P.O. Box 118, Natchez, MS 39121. Please give your name and phone number. Help us fill the bus.
Also, our DAV van is operating Tuesdays and Thursdays to the VAMC in Jackson. Call (601) 445-8706 for reservations.
