The Pilgrim Baptist Church Drama Share Ministry will present “Passion of the Cross,” a stage play, today and Sunday at 6 p.m. at the church, 117 Wilson Road.

The free program will begin with the first part of the drama today and continue with the finale on Sunday, a performance that follows the life of Christ through acting, music and special effects.

The presentation includes new scenes and music in addition to the scenes audiences have come to know and enjoy in the presentation in past years.

Willie Minor portrays the high priest Caiaphas, and Gary Stewart is Jesus. Henry Garner plays the role of the disciple Judas Iscariot.

Others in the cast include Ernest Cade as John the Baptist; Edwin Green as Satan; and Bill Hammitt as the demonic man.

Among the musical presentations will be “The Woman with Issue of Blood,” sung by Betty Franklin.

The play, written and directed by Vickie R. Green, includes the story of the birth, the cross, the beatings, the death and the resurrection of Jesus.
