Graveside services for Donald B. Davis, 79, of Natchez, who died Friday, April 6, 2007, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be noon Monday at the Davis Family Cemetery, located at 969 Highway 61 South in Natchez, with the Rev. Steve Pearson officiating.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at the grave site.
Mr. Davis was born July 27, 1927, in DeKalb County, Tenn., the son of Thomas Bruno and Orbie Brent Davis. He was a veteran of World War II. After 30 years as a superintendent of high rise construction throughout the United States, he settled in Mississippi, where he became a truck lease operator for Rock Island Oil Matador Pipeline and Koch Oil until retirement. After retiring, he enjoyed gardening, raising cattle and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years, Katherine “Kay” Davis; son, Samuel “Sam” Davis; and two brothers, T.B. Davis and Charles Davis.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas Davis of Monterey, Donnie Davis of Ferriday and Glenn Davis; two daughters, Sylvia Bunch and Sandra Davis QaDan, both of Natchez; four grandchildren, Cassie Davis Strickland, Melissa Bunch Hinson, Regina QaDan and Sammy QaDan; three great-grandchildren, Cody Strickland, Maddi Hinson and William Hinson; brother, Roger Davis of Tennessee; and two sisters, Elizabeth Driver of Washington, D.C., and Lavelle Smith of Tennessee.
