A man was transported to the hospital Monday after a woman allegedly hit him twice with a pickup truck.
Wanda Spinks, 46, 3905 Ridgewood Road, allegedly hit the man Monday morning while in a friend’s driveway on Lower Woodville Road, Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins said.
“The (responding) officer arrived and found John Bonds Jr. lying in the driveway, conscious,” Mullins said. “According to the report, (Bonds) said Ms. Spinks hit a fence and then hit him.
“(Bonds) says he fell to the ground. She got out and looked at him, got back inside the vehicle and hit him again.”
Spinks was arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault, domestic violence. Spinks’ bond will not be set until her arraignment, Mullins said.
Bonds, 62, and Spinks had apparently had a relationship of some sort, he said.
Monday’s incident is linked with a prior domestic dispute, Mullins said.
Spinks was reportedly on her way to court Monday morning to address that incident, he said.
“They were going to court on simple assault charges. He had allegedly assaulted her a week prior to this,” Mullins said. “She was on her way to court, and it appears he was trying to stop her.”
Mullins said he did not have details of the prior dispute that reportedly led to Monday’s incident.
Metro Ambulance Service transported Bonds to Natchez Regional Medical Center, Mullins said.
Metro Manager Jim Graves said Bonds was in stable condition when he was delivered to the hospital.
Bonds was no longer at Natchez Regional Medical Center at 10:40 a.m. Monday.
