The Mississippi River Commission will hold four public meetings within the next week, including one at Natchez on Thursday.
All meetings will begin at 9 a.m. and will be aboard the vessel on which the commission is traveling.
The Mississippi is expected to be at the Fulton Street Landing at Natchez Under-the-Hill Thursday for the public meeting.
The meetings are part of the commission’s annual spring tour of Corps of Engineers projects on the river.
During each meeting, the president of the commission will give a summary report on national and regional issues affecting the Corps of Engineers and commission programs and projects on the Mississippi River and its tributaries.
The local district commander will then give an overview of current project issues in the respective district areas.
Then local organizations and the public may give presentations or comments on any issue affecting Corps or commission programs.
