As the runners-up in Division 6-5A, the Natchez High Bulldogs will take on the Division 7-5A champion in the first round of the MHSAA Class 5A playoffs.

However, that opponent won’t be the George County Rebels after all. Natchez High will take on the Pascagoula Panthers in the first round. The first game will be today at 6 p.m. at Pascagoula, followed by the second game Friday at 7 p.m. at Chester Willis Field and the third game, if necessary, Saturday at Pascagoula.

George County finished in second place in Division 7-5A and will take on Division 6-5A champion Forest Hill, with two of three games to take place at Forest Hill.

The second game of the Cathedral-Lake series in the Class 1A playoffs, which will also take place at Chester Willis Field, will start at 4 p.m. Friday.
