Nineteen Robert Lewis Middle School students were arrested Thursday after a fight broke out, Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins said.
A call came in Thursday morning that two students got into a fight, Mullins said. Other students got involved.
“When officers arrived, school officials had the people involved in the cafeteria,” Mullins said. “They transported 19 to the station by school bus.”
All 19 were charged with disturbing the peace, booked in and released to their parents, he said.
Mullins said it was up to the school as to whether or not students are charged in instances like that. He said he could not release the students’ names because they were all juveniles.
