I’m quite happy to say that the gala on Sunday April 1st, “An Evening in Three Sets,” was a huge success. The more than 130 attendees from all over the city state and country discovered the beauty of The Eola hotel. The events many wonderful wines and foods along with stellar entertainment, made it one of the memorable nights in recent memory.
Entertainment was provided by cabaret pianist and singer Jason Weber, who thrilled the audience with his world premier of his new song, Natchez in the Spring, for which he received a standing ovation! He also accompanied for tenor John Tsotsoros who brought down the house with his operatic and Broadway tunes performed in the early dinner set.
They both brought in almost $14,000 in the live auction for their doing private in home concerts later this year.
I’d like to thank all the kind people who generously contributed their time and effort to make this event possible, particularly the Republic Beverage Company and their representatives for their informative descriptions of the 15 wines and many different types of liquor they poured. I must also thank all the many restaurants that furnished the food and special thanks to the coordinating chefs, Regina Charboneau and Monmouth’ Jeff Decker, who with the help of Jim Anderson (Monmouth) and Cliff Brumfield (Pearl Street Pasta) managed to plate and deliver hot food to so many that night.
This evening’s success helped raise over $40,000.00 which will help jump-start the Festivals May season this year. So to all who came and enjoyed a wonderful evening I wish to say thank you for your support.
