MONROE, La. — Graham Meyers pitched a complete-game three-hitter and Mitchell Cole went 3-for-4 with a home run as the third-ranked Warriors advanced to the regional round of the LHSAA Class 1A playoffs with a shutout win over the Bears.

The only batter for Block (13-15) who had any success against Meyers was Justin Winborne, who went 2-for-3. Justin Mailhes went 2-for-4 and Landon Williams was 2-for-3 for St. Frederick (25-8). The Warriors will take on the winner of the Merryville-Evangel winner in the regional round early next week.

In the LHSAA Class 2A Playoffs, top-ranked Menard defeated the Ferriday Trojans 18-0 to advance to the regional round. The Eagles improved to 24-8 while the Trojans finished with a 4-15 record.
