High school baseball star started early

As I was reading the article in your April 23, publication about high school no-hitters (SI Players), I thought I recognized the name of Chris Taranto, who shares the record for six consecutive no-hitters in high school. The article states that Taranto pitched for Notre Dame High School in Biloxi in 1961.

In August 1955, I was a member of the Natchez Little League All-Stars and we faced Biloxi in the south state tournament. I have the box score from my local paper, The Natchez Democrat, which states that Chris Taranto, a pint size, but hard throwing lefty, twirled two hit balls and wiffed 15 Natchezians while leading his team to a 6-0 victory and advancing to the state semi-finals.

Taranto was an excellent pitcher long before he got to high school.
