Summer story excluded Ranger camp
Published 5:31 pm Tuesday, May 1, 2007
The Natchez Democrat’s feature story on summer activities for Natchez children failed to mention the one-week Junior Ranger history camps for kids age 8-12 that will be operated by the National Park Service each week in June. The camps were held for the first time last summer, and a fun learning experience was had by all! Activities included games, crafts, tours and field trips.
Registration packets for this year’s summer camps can be picked up this week at Melrose or at the Park administration offices at the Natchez Visitor Reception Center. The camps are free to the public, but are limited to 20 children per week. Registration will take place this Saturday at the Natchez Visitor Reception Center beginning at 9 a.m. and will be on a first-come basis only. For more information, call 601-446-5790.
