NATCHEZ — Services for Spencer G. “Pop” Stutzman Jr., 84, who died at his residence Saturday, May 12, 2007, will be at 2 p.m. today at Assumption Catholic Church with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Burial will follow in Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will begin at noon today at the church.
Mr. Stutzman was born Sept. 10, 1922, in Natchez, the son of Spencer Gustavious Stutzman Sr. and Alice Graves Stutzman.
He was a lifelong resident of Natchez and a member of Assumption Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of WWII, having served in the South Pacific. He retired from South Central Bell telephone company after 37 years of service.
Mr. Stutzman was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Thoris Flowers Stutzman of Natchez; his sons, Spencer Stutzman III and wife Terry, both of Natchez; Ronald E. Stutzman and wife Mary, both of Caruthersville, Mo.; grandchildren Bridgette Privett of Caruthersville, Mo.; Gentry Scott of Hattiesburg; Ronald E. Stutzman Jr. of Jackson; Katie Graham of Colorodo Springs, Colo.; three great grandchildren; and sisters Catherine Jean Stutzman of Jackson and Hulda Thompson of Daytona Beach, Fla.
Pallbearers will be Bill Rice, Bill Jones, Terry Estes, Charles Weeks, Bill Darsey and Chris Newman.
In lieu of flower, the family request memorials to Hospice Ministries, Inc., 10 Jefferson Davis Blvd., Suite A, Natchez, MS, or Assumption Catholic Church, 10 Morgantown Road, Natchez, MS.
