A man reportedly punched through a window at clothing store Growing Pains window early Friday morning, leaving a trial of blood.
In a police report, a witness said the suspect walked out of Main Street bar Doc BigLove’s at about 2:15 a.m., made his way to the store and punched through the window.
The incident left the place a mess, store owner Tracy Henry said Friday.
“It took me three-and-a-half hours to clean up that mess,” Henry said.
A piece of plywood was taped across her window after the incident, she said. The temporary fix and damaged window blocks the view of the merchandise.
“Now, you can’t see through my window,” she said. “It has to be replaced with tempered glass, which will take a couple weeks. For now, all you’re going to see is a big piece of plywood.”
Henry said the trail of blood the man left was still visible Friday when she opened the store.
“There was no blood in our store, but there was blood on the sidewalk and in the street,” she said.
Doc BigLove’s co-owner Bobby Derrick said he was not at the bar at the time, but from talking to his employees, “we had no problems to my knowledge.”
Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins said in his years as chief, he couldn’t remember something like this happening.
Mullins said Henry had the option of pressing charges against the suspect.
