Graveside services for Billie Gallender, 76, of Gulfport, formerly of Natchez, who died Monday, May 14, 2007, at Memorial Hospital, in Gulfport, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Heard Cemetery.

Burial will follow under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home, Vidalia.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gallender was born Sept. 26, 1930, in Chase, La., the daughter of William T. Emrick and Violet Emrick.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan E. Gallender Jr.; her parents; a sister, Helen Wilson; and brother, Louie Emrick.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth Joe Gallender and wife, Betty, both of Gulfport; daughter, Sonya Grant and husband, Jimmy, both of Flora; grandchildren, Shelly and Nathan Gallender, Kaley Grant Grogan and husband, Mark, and Kendall Grant; sister, Sarah Wilson of Jonesville; and brothers, Fred Emrick and Bobby Emrick, both of Jonesville.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Gallender, Kendall Grant, Richard Hess, Charles Adams, Pete Rawls, and Bill Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Lazarus and Roger Heard.
