Ferriday man still held at parish jail on attempted murder charges

A Ferriday man faces attempted murder charges after he allegedly shot a man in his feet.
Kitress M. Williams, 41, 321 Eighth Street, was arrested Thursday evening after an altercation from several days ago allegedly escalated on Maryland Avenue, Ferriday Police Chief Richard Madison said.
Williams and another Ferriday man were allegedly fighting when Tyrone Anderson stepped in to intervene, Madison said.
Williams allegedly pulled a pistol and fired several shots, striking Anderson in both feet, Madison said.
Anderson was treated at Riverland Medical Center Thursday night.
Williams was arrested and charged with attempted second degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, discharging a firearm within the city limits and illegal use of a weapon.
No bond has been set.
