Services for Pauline Ratcliff Cowart, 80, of Smithdale, who died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at her residence, will be 2 p.m. today at Jones Family Funeral Services with the Revs. Bruce Crosby and James Case officiating.
Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Services, McComb.
Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cowart was born March 20, 1927, in McCall Creek, the daughter of Sam Ratcliff and Cleo Wilson Ratcliff. She was a retired LPN having worked at City Hospital in McComb, Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Philadelphia Hospital, Natchez Hospital and Mercy Hospital in Meridian. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church and a member of Auburn Chapter 87, Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, Wahabi Temple. She was a graduate of Independence High School, class of 1945.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, George F. Cowart of Smithdale; stepsons, George Cowart and Dennis Cowart both of Tennessee and Steve Cowart of Vilonia, Ark.; stepdaughters, Billie Jo Adams of Lebanon, Tenn., Barbara Miller and husband, Johnny, both of Summit, and Regina McGovern of Dayton, Ohio; sisters, Annie Brent of McComb and Catherine Davis of Natchez; special friend, Joan Bozeman and husband, Buck, of Smithdale; 11 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Chris Cowart, Josh Cowart, Steve Cowart, Dennis Cowart, Fon Campbell and Steve Mack.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Wahabi Shriners Transportation Fund, 4123 I-55 South, Jackson, MS 39212.
