Woodville — After running away with his hands still cuffed Friday, a Woodville prisoner was recaptured six hours later.
Percy Johnson, 34, was brought to the Woodville Police Station Friday morning for a hearing before Judge David Crawford on charges related to a May 23 armed robbery in Woodville, Woodville Police Chief James Forman said.
Johnson’s hands were cuffed, but he was not wearing leg restraints and was able to run out a door at the police station at about 11:30 a.m., Forman said.
Johnson was re-apprehended six miles west of Woodville off the Jackson, La., Road and U.S. 61 at approximately 6:30 p.m., Forman said.
He was brought back to the station and then forwarded to the county jail, Forman said.
Bond was set at $100,000.
The Angola Federal Penitentiary chase team, West Wilkinson County District Constable Jessie Stewart, East Wilkinson County District Constable Willie Thompson and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics assisted the Woodville Police, Forman said.
