TWENTY YEARS AGO — Nearly a year after being appointed president at Natchez College, one of James E. Gray’s first priorities will come to fruition this fall as the Panthers’ basketball program, which hasn’t been in existence in over a decade, will be resurrected.

TEN YEARS AGO — Thanks to second-place finishes in girls basketball and slow-pitch softball, Huntington’s athletics program finishes in second place in the MPSA Class A All-Sports standings, a mere three points behind first-place Deer Creek, which had 29 points.

FIVE YEARS AGO — ACCS side-arm left-handed pitcher Glenn Williams and catcher Boo Burchfield will be representing the area and are two of 18 players selected to represent District 7 at the State Games of Mississippi, which will be held in Meridian.
