NATCHEZ — Natchez historic pilgrimage homes and other Natchez landmarks were selected for the recent edition of the popular travel guidebook written by Patricia Schultz, “1,000 Places to See Before You Die. An instant phenomenon, this travel book, with more than 2.4 million copies in print, has spent more than 162 weeks on The New York Times bestseller list. The book is also the basis of the new reality television show of the same name airing on the Travel Channel.
Natchez Pilgrimage Tours is cited as the source for tickets and information for Spring and Fall Pilgrimage tour homes, eight year-round tour homes, and the Historic Natchez Pageant. Other businesses mentioned include Cock of the Walk, Fat Mama’s, Mammy’s Cupboard, Dunleith and Monmouth.
The author notes that more than 500 historic treasures remain in tact in Natchez, that the Natchez Spring Pilgrimage has been a tourism highlight since 1932 and that the city has a wealth of elegant B&Bs.
