RIDGECREST — Services for Macy Alexandra Loomis, 11, of Dunbarton, La., who died Thursday, June 14, 2007 near Lindale, Texas, will be at 2 p.m. today, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with the Revs. Don Bush and Preston Holder officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Macy was born August 4, 1995, in Natchez, the daughter of Gregg and Melissa Loomis. She was a resident of Dunbarton and a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. She was a student at Huntington High School in Ferriday. She served two years in 4-H Club, three years as a AYA cheerleader, and seven years as a Peppy Pup cheerleader. She played AYA basketball for three years. She served Junior Beta Club for one year, and she was an active member in her church and AWANA program. She was recently chosen to be a Junior High Cheerleader.
She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, Hardie and Bennie Blackmon and James Cater and Aida Metcalfe, paternal, George Loomis Sr. and John and Viola Corkern.
Survivors include her parents; Gregg and Melissa Loomis; her brother, Lynn Loomis and wife, Brittany; sisters, Sarah and Emma Loomis; maternal grandparents, Benton and Bonnie Blackmon; paternal grandparents, George and Vickie Loomis; paternal great-grandmother, Betty Loomis; uncles and aunts, Ben and Kim Blackmon, Matt and Tanja Maroon, Lisa Loomis, Tommy and Peggy Barron, Joe and Betty Evers and Mike and Lisa Cater; cousins Aaron Maroon, Logan and Kyle Blackmon, Jay, Samantha, Thomas and Jared Barron, Joe Evers, Jason Neia and Jillian Evers; best friends, Hunter Marks, Abbey Ashmore, Allie Boothe, Hunter Bird, Mallory Huffman and Emily Pearson.
Pallbearers will be Ben Blackmon Jr., Matt Maroon, Aaron Maroon, Jay Barron, Paul marks, Lynn Loomis, Dr. Layne Washington and Tommy Barron.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mitch Ashmore, David Marchbanks, Phillip Washington, Richard Steele, Trey Corbett, Kyle Blackmon, Huntington Baseball Team and Huntington Cheerleaders.
