ACCS star wins at games

MERIDIAN — Luke Brumfield of Adams County Christian School played solid defense at shortstop as he helped District 7 to a 10-2 win over District 3 Thursday night at the State Games of Mississippi at Meridian Community College.
Brumfield assisted in nine outs out of 10 opportunities on defense and he went 1-for-4 with one run batted in.
Matt Barnes of Trinity Episcopal, one of the pitchers on the team, was in the bullpen, but he did not play. Another player from ACCS, Brian Sanderson, made the team, but because of a shoulder injury is unable to play.
Casey Paulk of North Pike was the winning pitcher. District 7 will take on a team to be determined today at 7 p.m.
