FERRIDAY — Services for Andrew Jackson Reed II, 86, of Kinder, La., formerly of Ferriday, who died Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings, La. will be 1 p.m. today at Comer Funeral Home Chapel with Minister John Barker officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Comer Funeral Home, Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Reed was born March 16, 1921 in McDowell, Ala., the son of Andrew Jackson Reed and Sallie Knox Reed. He was a mechanic with International Paper Company in Natchez for 39 years. He was a member of Church of Christ Church of Ferriday. Mr. Reed had been a resident of Kinder for the past year and formerly a resident of Ferriday for 45 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Maurice T. Reed.
Survivors include his son, Andrew Jackson Reed III of Atlanta, Texas; daughters, Susan Reed of Kinder and Nancy Tennison of Vidalia; sister, Sallie Guelzo of Monroe; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Russell Wagoner, Terry Wagoner, Mark Houck, Casey Hale, Jack Reed and Davis Houck.
