NATCHEZ — Fast cars, new and old, will be on showcase Saturday.
The Natchez Fraternal Order of Police Lodge will be putting on its first Car and Truck Show featuring a large variety of new and old cars, trucks and SUVs.
The Natchez lodge is a nonprofit organization that aids the needs of law enforcement agents. The money raised will aid officers in financial distress and help them attend other fraternal events. Almost all of the Natchez Police Department employees are members of the Natchez lodge, however none of the money will benefit the Natchez Police Department.
“This fundraiser will benefit police all over the United States,” event coordinator Gary Ford said.
The benefit is being held at the old Wal-Mart parking lot from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be music, door prizes and a space jump for the children.
“The main thing the fraternity wants to do is provide clean fun, clean cars and have a safe and prosperous time while raising money,” Ford said.
Some of the cars are local and some are driving in from out of town, Ford said.
“If this goes well, we will possibly do it again next year,” Ford said.
