Brakenridge wins performance award

NATCHEZ — Ten-year-old Lansing Brakenridge was recently awarded the performance award in the junior division at her spring music recital on May 11.
Brakenridge is a student of Sylvia Johns Ritchie.
The award is based on outside performances by the students. Brakenridge has performed at the Delta Music Festival, Frogmore Plantation’s Songs of the South, The Natchez Music League, The Town of Ferriday’s 100-Year Celebration and the Delta Music Museum’s Christmas Presentation, in addition to many benefits for the Miss-Lou.
She also recently received the superior award at the National Federation of Music Festival in Alexandria, La.
She has performances planned at various events in the area for the next several months.
Brakenridge attends Cathedral School and lives on Lake Concordia with her parents, Charles and Georgeanne Brakenridge and brother Chase.
