Isom Cameron celebrated his 90th birthday with family and friends on Saturday, May 26 at Pleasant Green Baptist Church in Natchez and at Comfort Suites Hotel in Vidalia.
His wife, Theresa Cameron, planned the birthday celebration in his honor. Out-of-town guests attended from various parts of the country, as far away as California and Illinois. Guests included his children, his sister, nieces, nephews and friends.
Festivities began with an elegant, spirit-filled program at the church and culminated with an excellent dinner, birthday cake and cocktails at Comfort Suites. Cameron received numerous verbal and musical tributes during the church program, with the highlights being his reception of a key to the city of Natchez and a proclamation presented by Alderman James “Ricky” Gray.
With Psalm 37:23-25, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delighteth in his way … I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread,” as his guide, Cameron serves as a deacon and has been spiritually grounded for 70 years at Pleasant Green Baptist Church.
Mr. & Mrs. Cameron express special thanks to everyone who helped to make this such a memorable celebration. They hope that God will richly bless all for their kindness and generosity.
