NATCHEZ —Matt Burrowes has joined the staff of The Natchez Democrat as a sports reporter.

Burrowes has attended Mississippi State University and has an associates of arts degree in journalism from Northwest Community College.

At Northwest, Burrowes was editor of the student newspaper, The Ranger Rocket and the yearbook, The Rocketeer.

Burrowes is a native of Water Valley and graduated from Water Valley High School in 2000.
