WESSON — The six teams playing in the Dixie Youth 11-year-olds District 6 District Tournament were hoping that the rain would stay away long enough to get Friday’s games under way.

But for the second straight day, that would not be the case as heavy rain and strong thunderstorms postponed the first day of the tournament.

As a result, the games between Natchez and the Lincoln County Americans, Franklin County and McComb, and Wesson and the Lincoln County Nationals will be played today. The first two of the aforementioned games will start at 6 p.m. and the third game will start at 8 p.m.

This also means that there will be tournament games on Sunday. The winner of the Natchez-Lincoln County Americans game will take on the winner of the Franklin County-McComb game will take on each other at 8 p.m., while the loser of those two games will square off at 6 p.m.
