NATCHEZ — Natchez-Adams School District administrators Edward Reed and Marilyn Turner recently participated in the Principals’ Summer Institute on the Millsaps College campus.
Reed, an assistant at Natchez High, and Turner an assistant at Robert Lewis Middle School, attended the conference June 10-15.
“The principals worked together and learned together at Millsaps with nationally recognized educators, their colleagues, and the institute staff who presented challenging ideas and stimulated discussions of issues currently important to principals,” program director Ledora Overby Harris said. “The principals reflected upon and discussed their work in schools to better understand their practice and thus, we hope, improve as school administrators.”
The institute’s goal is to provide principals with information they can use in the real world of their schools and make changes that improve instruction for students, Harris said.
Reed and Turner will be invited to return to a fall follow-up meeting in November.
