NATCHEZ —The Natchez Rams are headed to the United States Specialty Sports Association’s 13-and 14-year-old World Series in Lake Charles, La.
“We qualified earlier this year in Tupelo,” coach Gene Banks said. “We came out this year wanting to prove we can play with the best, now we get that chance.”
The Rams will start play Monday at noon against the Knights in one of two pool games to decide their seeding in the nine-team double-elimination tournament.
“All the parents and players worked hard to raise enough money for this,” Banks said.
Admission for the tournament is $7 per person per day or a tournament pass can be purchased for $25. Children 6-to 12-years-old can get in for $5 or a $20 tournament pass is available.
