Extension service to host logger education

NATCHEZ — Whether it’s to learn something new or just to brush up on old knowledge, area foresters will have a chance to learn the tricks of the trade.
The Mississippi State University Extension service will offer a logger education day July 28 at Ethel Vance Park in Liberty.
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the program will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sessions offered will include equipment demonstrations, how to prevent the spread of cogon grass, insurance, record keeping, service and cut-n-haul contracts and timber theft.
Those who complete the program will receive six CFE, Category One certification hours.
