HOUSTON — Services for Yolanda Lanise Ellis, 39, of Missouri City, Texas, who died Sunday, July 8, 2007, in Houston, were held 3 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2007, at Earthman Southwest Chapel in Stafford, Texas.
Yolanda was born Dec. 9, 1967, in Natchez, the daughter of Ruth Ellis Bailey and Frederick Lloyd Sr. She was a very loving and devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a graduate of Willowridge High School and Houston Community College. She was employed by Unified Medical Group, Inc. of Houston. Yolanda loved doing things with her children, Malik and Taylor, who were the loves of her life. Her passions were interior decoration and fashion.
Yolanda was preceded in death by her brothers, Terrance Lamonte Ellis and Wilbur D. Lloyd.
Survivors include her son, Malik Jamal Ellis; daughter, Taylor Jhanee Ellis-Parks; parents, Ruth Ellis Bailey and stepfather and daddy, Retired Major General John H. Bailey II; her father, Frederick Lloyd Sr.; sister, Vertes D. Jones; brothers, Willie J. Ellis II and wife, Cheryl, Captain John H. Bailey III and wife, Renee, Christopher G. Bailey and wife, Mary, and Brian F. Bailey and wife, Camisha; grandmother, Sarah W. Harris of Natchez; nephew, Jerrell L. Ellis; niece, Ivory J. Ellis; stepsister, Harriett Bailey Muoneke and husband, Celestine; aunts, Cheryl Brinkley and husband, Henry, Lorna Harris, and Susan Harris; uncles, Hayes R. Harris III and wife, Christine, Attorney James M. Harris, Cary C. Harris and wife, Edith, Keith A. Harris and David A. Harris; 21 cousins; and three loving friends and mentors, Flora Wilson, Angela Parks and Jerry Jamal Parks, all of Missouri City.
