HATTIESBURG — Lamarcus Singleton tripled to bring in Donte Hawkins with the game-winning run as the Natchez T.M. Jennings All-Stars rallied to defeat Laurel 9-8 in the T.M. Jennings 9- and 10-year-old All-Star Tournament.

“We got off to a slow start. They really hadn’t played against a team like that,” Natchez head coach Lee Wong Hughes said. “When they started to rally, they came focused as a team.”

The bottom of the fourth inning proved to be the key inning in Natchez’s come-from-behind win as it loaded the bases and ended up scoring three runs.

Natchez-Hattiesburg rained out

HATTIESBURG — The Natchez All-Stars had a 3-0 lead in the top of the third inning over the Hattiesburg All-Stars at the T.M. Jennings League 11- and 12-year-old All-Star Tournament when the game was halted due to rain.

The game will pick up where it left off today at 9 a.m.

Natchez pitcher Darrius Terrell had a no-hitter through two innings, Aaron Wesley had an RBI triple and Derrian Johnson had an RBI single.

“Aaron hit a long fly ball. He thought it was a home run and it bounced off the top of the fence and it fell back in,” Natchez head coach Johnny Williams said.
