FERRIDAY — An area teen was arrested after being allegedly caught in the act of having sex with a minor just off a Ferriday street.

James W. Turner, 17, 126 Chisume St., Sicily Island, was arrested on charges of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile Tuesday.

The arrest stemmed from an incident Monday afternoon when a Ferriday patrolman noticed Turner’s truck parked at the corner of First Street and Kentucky Avenue, said Ferriday Police Chief Richard Madison.

The officer reportedly noticed a pair of shoes outside the passenger side of the truck, and the driver’s side door was open, Madison said.

The officer called Turner and the juvenile over to his car after he reportedly saw the victim, 13, pulling on a pair of pants, Madison said.

When questioned, the two teens reportedly admitted having sex, Madison said.

When the officer asked the pair how old they were, Turner allegedly said he was 16, Madison said.

The victim was released to her parents, and Turner is being detained without bond by the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office.
