GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) — A Saucier woman has been given a 20-year prison sentence for the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend in November 2005.
Harrison County Circuit Judge Roger T. Clark suspended half of the sentence, meaning Amanda Sue Shavers, 31, will serve 10 years for killing Jeffrey L. Farmer.
Shavers, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in May, will also be placed on post-release supervision, according to a www.sunherald.com article.
In court, Shavers said she accidentally stabbed Farmer, 26, during an argument at her home in Saucier.
