Loraine Harper

GREENVILLE – Services for Loraine Dixon Harper, 87, of Greenville, who died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Greenville.
Burial will follow at the Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.
Mrs. Harper was born May 10, 1920, in Collinwood, Wayne County, Tennessee, the eldest daughter of Robert Esley and Reba Ussery Dixon. During World War II, she worked as Rosie the Riveter in munitions and airplane manufacturing facilities in Michigan and California. At the conclusion of the war, she married Warren G. Harper and moved to Greenville where he was associated with the Burdine Construction Companies.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years; a brother, Hugh Dixon; and a sister, Junelle D. Chambers.
Survivors include her daughter, Mischa Ann Walker and husband, Jack, of Bastrop, Texas; sons, Warren Harper Jr. and wife, Deanna, and Stanley F. Harper, all of Greenville, Ronnie L. Harper and wife, Linda, of Natchez and B. Keith Harper and wife, Faye, of Shreveport; sisters, Juanula D. Roberson of Houston, Ala. and Maxine D. Jones of Oregon; and eight grandchildren.
The family offer their sincerest thanks to Pam Scott for the loving care given Loraine and Stanley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Greenville, the Natchez Adams County Humane Society or a charity of choice.
