Good news of week comes in many ways

Development and new businesses make big headlines in the Miss-Lou, but the good news doesn’t end with growth. Let’s review a few of the good headlines from last week.
The River Cities chapter of the March of Dimes is planning its fall fundraiser — a walk at the Riverview RV Park in Vidalia. This group will work over the next few months to do whatever it takes to raise money to fight premature births. Their focus is on our world’s smallest residents, and we are glad a local group wants to be so involved in such a worthy cause.
Now that the Vidalia Conference and Convention Center has opened, the events at the riverfront building just keep coming. This week alone the center saw a visit from gubernatorial candidate Bobby Jindal and a fundraiser for the Ferriday Delta Music Museum. It’s great to see the gorgeous building getting use quickly and frequently.
Two local men with an enterprising way about them are planning to start two taxi services in the Miss-Lou. It’s too early to know if their services will be used enough to be profitable, but we are glad Oscar Davis and Bruce Moak are willing to try. Unique thinkers can contribute much to our community.
We are certain the good news will keep coming in the week to come.
