Man hospitalized after roadside beating

Ferriday — A Ferriday man is in police custody after he and two others allegedly beat a man to the point of hospitalization.
Preston D. Jefferson, 19, 120 Lee Tyler Road, was arrested on charges of aggravated second-degree battery Monday night.
Jefferson and two accomplices allegedly beat a man at the Calhoun crossing of Fudiker Street Monday evening.
The victim was taken to Riverland Medical Center where he was treated, Ferriday Police Investigator Maj. Johnny Evans said.
One of Jefferson’s accomplices, a juvenile, was also arrested.
The police are still looking for the third party, Evans said.
Jefferson was detained without bond at the Concordia Parish Sherrif’s Office Tuesday.
