Betty Baker Mayfield

CENTREVILLE – Services for Betty Joe Baker Mayfield, 69, of Centreville, formerly of Zachary, who died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center, in Baton Rouge, will be 11 a.m. today at Bethany Presbyterian Church with the Revs. E.C. Case and Reggie Bridges officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Newman Funeral Home in Centreville.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mrs. Mayfield was born May 16, 1938, in Zachary, the daughter of Percy W. and Margaret Annie Baker. She was retired from U.S.D.A. Rural Development where she worked in both Centreville and Woodville.
Mrs. Mayfield graduated from Zachary High School and was a clerk for Weight Watchers for nine years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Carol Ann Baker.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Richard F. Mayfield of Centreville; daughters, Debbie Harrell and husband, Tommy, of Slaughter, La., Pam Johnson and husband, Tillery, of Woodville and Becky Smith of Ridgeland; sister, Virginia Nell Bozeman of Zachary; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be her sons-in-law.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Our Lady of the Lake Oncology Center. The family sends special thanks to Dr. Gerald Miletello.
